The Institute will conduct hands-on experiments, trend quantitative analysis, case studies and study group meetings, and develop business strategy theories in a business environment where individuals are armed with ICT.

Mobile disaster prevention and M-Government

With respect to disaster prevention, the Institute will conduct international joint empirical research, suggest policies, and support overseas affiliated organizations (working in such areas as establishing communications during emergencies, training disaster prevention CIO personnel, developing disaster prevention applications in mobile fields, supporting the development of early warning systems, and utilizing integrated disaster simulation systems).

Improving children's literacy and the nature of social support

Problems of the mobile society involving children have been growing since the Institute's establishment, and this fiscal year, the Institute is conducting analyses from the three aspects of literacy systemization, parent / child workshops, and cooperation with government bodies, on the theme of "Hypothesis verification trial aimed at concrete solutions of problems linked with actual locations."

Research on the social impact of RFID tag in the human body

In the US and Europe, the service of "RFID tag in the human body" has been introduced in the society. The purpose of this project is to research on the social background and reasons of launching this service, psychological changing (i.e. before and after served) of users and the intention of service providers and to measure the impression of the third party.

Antipathy against mobile phone

According to the previous survey with UTA, e-waste problem was pointed out in US, Italy and Korea. As the next phase, this research is clarifying the factors or causes of issue by conducting the questionnaire to users and interviewing to the handset vendors, the mobile operators and the recycling factories and then finding the solutions to solve e-waste problem.

A role of mobile phone in welfare of aged and handicapped people

The objective of this research is to seek the image of 'universal mobile phone' which is provided for anyone regardless his/her age, or whether he/she is handicapped or not (mobile phone in this context is not only handsets(terminal) but including network service, application or contents service). Supposed methods are some interviews with aged or handicapped people, and also with operators, manufacturers, service provider.
